Melissa, did you see the Explorers folder that is being advertised in the banner ad? It's in the Global Folder. Explorers: Past and Present I think. Anyway, the elementary folder has the idea of creating a story based on an event in someone's life using Kerpoof. With your NC standards, find the people that your students study, and try the same thing. Pretty cool idea to get students writing.

Do you use BrainPOP? In the Wednesday Global folder we have a Civil War News Project. It matches SC state standards, and also might meet your needs. That project they use a tool called Letter Pop.

Any of those Global folders can be copied to your portfolio and then customized for your needs. For instance, in the Lesson Launchers folder we have an incomplete "A Virtual Field Trip to Washington DC". It only has 3 locations in it. If you like it, then you add the rest of the monuments and other landmarks you want your students to "visit" virtually for their photostory.

If you have created any project folders you think are worthy of sharing, let me know. I can get them moved to the Global Folder. We're looking for some great ones!

There are some great resources you can find for monthly themes for January and February in the Global Portfolio inside the My Portfolio folder. There are resources and project ideas to go along with them. 

It would be great for you to post things you do in the months of Jan. and Feb. Maybe we can work together to find ways you can use netTrekker to go along with some of those projects and/or topics.

I believe January and February have a folder in the Global folder. The February folder was our first one, so I'd love to update it! (Hint, hint ;-) )

I know we did one last year - and I am going to be on the road starting next weekend for 3 weeks. So I doubt we'll have a new tip video. 

 

We actually just taped a video that combines all the months into one.
