21st Century Challenges - What are your professional development needs?

With all the focus on 21st century learning environments, and preparing students for college and career success in the 21st century, educators are being asked to make a lot of changes to their teaching practices.  Do you feel like your school or district has prepared you to face these new 21st century challenges? How has your school or district addressed professional development around 21st century learning?  What areas do you feel like you need more PD in?

I feel like our biggest challenge is time. The time needed to create and implement the PD, and the recognition by directors of the amount of time it takes staff to learn not only a new piece of technology but also to learn how to use it well. To know how to use it to improve instruction, not just instruction with a new bell or whistle.

With our ever shrinking budgets it becomes even more challenging to carve out that time.

Lynn, Thanks for sharing your response. We're hearing this same story from more and more educators.  Can you think of any ways netTrekker might be better able tp you with the time challenges you're facing? Is there anything we can do to make it easier for people to learn how to use netTrekker to improve instruction?
